President Trump Will Spend Independence Day Honoring Military Families

It’s no surprise that our America First President will be spending the Fourth of July celebrating with our military.
President Trump will be spending Independence Day at the White House, hosting military families as his honored guests.
The festivities will start with a picnic and then fireworks!
It’s great to have a president in the White House who truly loves our country and enthusiastically supports our military!
President Trump will spend the Fourth of July at the White House with military families and his staff for an evening of celebration, maintaining a tradition that presidents have observed for decades.
Trump and first lady Melania Trump will first join a picnic with military families on the South Lawn before watching a fireworks display from the Truman Balcony on Tuesday, according to the White House.
Although the president and his family spent the weekend in Bedminster, N.J., where Trump keeps a property, they were scheduled to return to Washington on Monday evening ahead of the holiday. Trump will depart for his second trip overseas on Wednesday.
The Fourth of July picnic at the White House is a longstanding tradition dating back to at least the Carter administration, although not every president has attended it every year.
Former President Barack Obama held the picnic and fireworks viewing for military families during his presidency, but had to cancel the festivities last year due to weather and instead moved planned musical performances inside to the East Room.
Trump has already delivered the first Fourth of July speech of his presidency.
He spoke Saturday evening at the Kennedy Center’s Celebrate Freedom Rally, where he excoriated the media for what he sees as unfair coverage and touted his administration’s efforts to serve veterans.
The Trump White House has already held several major events on the South Lawn.
Melania Trump earned praise for her successful Easter Egg Roll this spring, and members of Congress and their families recently descended on the South Lawn for the annual Congressional Picnic.
